TSC awarded contract for the concept development for the extension of AZ's DSB Stadium

BUSSUM, 7th of March 2009

Dutch Eredivisie club AZ Alkmaar have appointed TSC as consultants for the concept development for the redevlopment and expansion of the DSB Stadium from 17,000 to 30,000 spectators.

AZ moved from its old stadium 'Alkmaarderhout' to the new 17,000 seater DSB stadium in August 2006, with the opening match against Arsenal FC (0-3). Since its opening the stadium has been sold out. TSC has been employed by the club to perform the following tasks:

  • Determine the ambition level and objectives for the stadium project in collaboration with the club's Board and management;
  • Prepare a functional, spatial and organisational program of requirements for the extenstion of the stadium;
  • Analyse the various options to physically realise the stadium extension;
  • Preparation of a conceptual design for the extension;
  • Prepare a construction costs breakdown and investment budget for the extension;
  • Prepare a financial-economic study of the impact of the stadium extension;
  • Prepare a project plan to implement the project.
