FC Twente commences construction works of phase II of the extension of the Grolsch Stadium

Construction works underneath the West stand of the Grolsch Stadium have commenced this week. The West stand will facilitate 6,300 sqm. of commercial development as well as 800 sqm. offices for FC Twente.
This development which has been themed 'Health, Education & Sport', will house a vocational training institute (ROC Twente), a Johan Cruyff Academy (1st and 2nd floors) and a sports medical clinic (ground floor).
Besides the FC Twente offices (3rd floor), the homes of both supporters groups of FC Twente, 'Vak-P' and the 'Vriendenkring' will be located on the ground floor.
Opening of the West wing is expected at the end of the 2009-2010 season.
