First official match of FC Twente '65 played in the Grolsch Stadium
BUSSUM, 13th of September 2009
On the 13th of September FC Twente played its first official match -against felllow Eredivisie Team NEC- in the Grolsch Stadium, after its capacity had been extended from 13,500 to 24,000 seats.
Despite the 1-1 result, the opening was a great success. Although still not completely finished after less than 9 months of construction works, which started just after the new year, all new facilities can be used in a safe way.
The coming 2-3 months will focus on the finishings and decorations of the business lounges and the installation of the kitchens.
