City of Enschede and FC Twente '65 reach an agreement on the extension of the Arke stadium
Today the City Council of Enschede has approved the project for the extension of FC Twente's Arke stadium from 13,500 to 25,000 visitors. As part of an agreement between city and club, the club buys 11,000 sqm. land necessary for the extension. Furthermore the club will take over the 2,500 sqm. office complex located inside the existing stadium, from the city for € 4 million. The city in its turn will provide a € 20 million loan to the club to finance the extension.

The first professional management programme for the stadium and sports venue sector commenced this week in Frankfurt, Germany with attendees from over 15 countries and representing more than 20 stadiums around the world.

Swedish FA invites Ben Veenbrink as guest speaker on stadium development
Ben Veenbrink was a guest speaker during a workshop organised by the Swedish FA in the Nya Ullevi stadium in Gothenburg. During a day workshop the new Gothenburg stadium was presented and the Swedish FA introduced the implications of the new UEFA Stadium Infrastructure Regulations to the representatives of the Swedish professional football clubs. »read more

International flavour to inaugural EVMI Summer School
EVMI's inaugural Stadium Management Summer School (SMSS07) has attracted a truly global attendance. Management from over 20 different stadia and sports destinations, representing 15 countries have now enrolled. A few remaining places are available on the five-day residential course which commences Sunday 20 May 2007 in Frankfurt at Commerzbank Arena.

During a workshop session hosted by Frankfurt based sportslaw practice Arnecke Siebold, Ben Veenbrink provided insight in the financing models used for the Netherlands' stadiums built for Euro 2000 as well as in the wave of stadium development triggered by that same tournament.

Ben Veenbrink appointed tutor at UEFA's Stadium and Security Education Program
As part of the 4th and 5th workshops held by UEFA in Nyon as part of the Stadium and Security Education Program (SSEP), Ben Veenbrink introduced the representatives of the national football federations present, in the principles of project management.
