TSC AWARDED CONTRACT for feasibility STUDY and design of 3 national stadiumS in kenya
Sports Kenya has contracted a consortium of firms led by PKF Kenya as the lead consultant along with The Stadium Consultancy as the principal consultant for the feasibility study and detailed design stages of the development of three national stadia in selected counties in Kenya. Sports Kenya is a corporate body under the Ministry of Sports, Culture and the Arts and aspires to develop new national sports stadia in the counties of Nairobi, Mombasa, and Eldoret.
The Nairobi Stadium will be designed essentially for rugby with a seating capacity of 42,000. The Mombasa stadium and Eldoret stadium will primarily be designed for athletics and football, with a seating capacity of 20,000, which can be expanded to 30,000 seats in the future. The projects will contribute to Kenya’s ambition to host international tournaments, such as the CAF Africa Cup of Nations and the IAAF World Championships in Athletics.
