Project Description:

Development of the new National Stadium of Poland in Warsaw.
The Stadium will be located at the site of the Stadion Dziesieciolecia (10th-Anniversary Stadium). This old stadium was a principal venue for Party and state festivities in communist Poland. In the 1980s the stadium became dilapidated, as no funds could be found to refurbish it. After 1989 it was used mainly as a bazaar, becoming famous as the place to buy a whole range of illegal goods, most notably pirated software and media.
The new stadium will be build on the embankments of the old stadium and the pitch will be raised 2 levels, thus creating an underground parking garage underneath it.
It is envisaged that the new National Stadium will host the matches of the Polish national team as well as a whole range of other non-football events.
The stadium will host the opening match and semi-finals of the Euro 2012 tournament which will be held in Poland and Ukraine.

Services description:

TSC prepared the outline for a functional program of requirements for the new stadium, which became part of the contract with the architects of the stadium (a consortium consisting of JSK Architects and GMP).

Key words:

Development, multi-use, program of requirements, Euro 2012, national stadium.
