The Stadium Consultancy has been appointed specialist stadium consultant within the design team in order to prepare the design for a new stadium for Al Arabi Sports Club. The 30,000 seat capacity stadium will be built on the same location as the existing Sabah Al Salem stadium and will meet the highest standards with regard to safety, customer experience and inclusive design.

The original stadium has been built in 1977 and has a capacity of 28,000 people. The stadium does not only hosts football matches, but also athletic events, martial arts (with the stadium building) and other sports. Adjacent to the stadium, there is a multifunctional sports hall and training pitch for football.

The Stadium Consultancy is responsible for preparing the 3D bowl design of the stadium, preparing the employers’ requirements, specialist design advice with regard to stadium specific solutions, performing compliance checks and calculations (i.e. FIFA, UEFA, safety & security, accessibility), value engineering and dynamic crowd modelling.
