The Stadium Consultancy is a boutique consultancy and project management company for the sports infrastructure and venue industries. The company was established in 2006 by Ben Veenbrink, with the aim of applying the know-how and experience he gained in operating and managing one of Europe’s most successful stadiums, to improve the design and operability of stadiums and arenas worldwide.

Our specialist team of stadium operations consultants, programming consultants, design consultants and project managers, operates on the cutting edge between stadium operations and stadium design. This unique combination of planning and design expertise with management and operations experience, differentiates us from other consultants in the venue industry. We understand the impact of design decisions on stadium operations and ultimately the profitability of the venue.

How It Started

The Stadium Consultancy was established by Ben Veenbrink in 2006.

Ben started his career in venue technology at Philips Electronics. In 2000, he joined the management team of Amsterdam Arena, Europe’s first multifunctional stadium with a retractable roof. Applying the know-how and experience gained in operating and managing one of Europe’s most successful stadiums in other venues projects, was the driving force for him to establish The Stadium Consultancy.

During the first 15 years of The Stadium Consultancy, he successfully built a team of internationally renowned consultants and associated consultants, who delivered more than 100 stadium projects across 4 continents.

Since 2005, Ben has been the managing director of Euroborg NV, the owner of the 22,500-seat capacity Noordlease Stadium in Groningen, The Netherlands. Home to Dutch premier league club FC Groningen, this multifunctional complex with underground parking also consists of a multiplex cinema, casino, vocational school, various restaurants, health & wellness centre, commercial offices, 2 apartment towers and supermarket.

In recognition of his expertise in the stadium industry, Ben was elected as a member of UEFA‘s expert panel on Stadium Construction and Management in late 2006. A position he still holds today.
