On Saturday 13 October the Topsportzorgcentrum (“Top Sport & Healthcare Centre”) was officially inaugurated.
The Topsportzorgcentum is a multifunctional building, which combines professional sport, professional (sport) healthcare, -knowledge & -education and entrepreneurship, as well as supporting recreational sports and vitality programmes in the North of The Netherlands.
The building facilities the training facilities for the first team and the academy for the youth team of FC Groningen, sport medical centre ‘Omnium’, restaurant 2Corpus and employers’ organization VNO-NCW MKB Noord.
After speeches by FC Groningen managing director Hans Nijland, Provincial Deputy Patrick Brouns, City of Groningen Eldermen Roeland van de Schaaf and Paul de Rook, the centre officially opened its doors to the public. Attendees could have a sneak preview of the dressing rooms facilities of the first team and the healthcare facilities of the Omnium, enjoy drinks and snacks at restaurant 2Corpus and watch a demonstration training by FC Groningen talents in the training hall.
The Stadium Consultancy were the representative and project managers for the development of the Topsportzorgcentrum.
