BAKU OLYMPIC STADIUM

In 2014, The Stadium Consultancy was the appointed specialist consultant to AFFA to assist them in the preparation of their bid documents for the UEFA EURO 2020 tournament, sector 7 Stadium, based on the Baku Olympic Stadium. In addition we advised AFFA with regard to the bid strategy, including the financial conditions of the bid.

As part of our services we analysed the stadium, which was built for the 2015 European Games, on Tournament compliance and made recommendations for improvements to the stadium with regard to amongst others VIP and hospitality areas as well as media & broadcast facilities.

Baku was awarded the group stage matches and a quarter final of this prestigious tournament by UEFA. In 2017, The Stadium Consultancy prepared the bid for AFFA to host the Europa League Final of 2019. In competition with the stadiums of Seville (Spain) and Istanbul (Turkey), the Baku stadium was the successful bidder.
