The Stadium Consultancy was contracted by the Gibraltar Football Association to develop plans for a new National Football Stadium. After 2 alternative sites dropped out, it was decided to built a new 8,000 seat capacity stadium on the site of the old Victoria Stadium. The new stadium will be a landmark upon entry of the Gibraltar peninsula and will comply with all FIFA and UEFA requirements to host international matches on club level as well as for national teams. The Gibraltar National team as well as all 10 premier division teams will play their matches in the new stadium.
Besides the main stadium the project will consist of an international standard Futsal hall, 5,000 sqm. of leisure and sports medical facilities, training pitches and a public realm.
The Stadium Consultancy is responsible for preparing the:
- Site selection study;
- Financial feasibility study;
- Programme of requirements (employers’ requirements);
- Concept design for the redevelopment;
- Site masterplan.
