Stadio Luigi Ferraris

The iconic Stadio Luigi Ferraris is shared between Italian teams Genoa CFC and UC Sampdoria. The stadium is located in a high density suburban area of the city of Genoa. The last redevelopment of the stadium was 30 years ago in preparation of the 1990 FIFA World Cup.

As such, the stadium hardly meets the requirements of current days, although the ground is still praised by fans and groundhoppers from all around the world. Both clubs therefore intend to redevelop their mutual stadium whilst maintaining its unique character and ambience.

The Stadium Consultancy, in collaboration with the Istituto per il Credito Sportivo (CS) was contracted by Genoa CFC and UC Sampdoria to prepare the concept design and employer’s requirements for the redevelopment of the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
